Eduard Turcuman graduated from “Victor Babes” University of Medicine Timisoara, Romania. Subsequently, he successfully applied to the Irish Emergency Medicine Training Program and completed his Emergency Medicine Specialist Training in 2023. Following a Fellowship in Emergency Ultrasound and Trauma, he joined the UHG EM Consultant group in 2024.

Eduard has a special interest in Emergency Ultrasound, becoming a member of the RCSI Ultrasound Faculty in April 2022 and delivered numerous practical workshops for EM trainees and CPDSS students alike. Building on his experience, Eduard contributed to the development of the Ultrasound Guided Regional Anaesthesia Workshop provided for the first time to CSTEM trainees as part of their core skill requirements, and delivered dedicated Ultrasound Guided IV Access Workshops to all interested NCHDs with the support of the NDTP.

Eduard was recognized as an ATLS instructor in September 2022, rounding out his dedication to improving and delivering continuous professional development to postgraduate students in Ireland.

As part of his Fellowship training, he obtained BSE Level 1 accreditation with an interest in focused Transthoracic Echocardiography for critically ill patients in the Resuscitation Room. Eduard is eager to bring his passion for Ultrasound as the next UHG ED Ultrasound Lead.
